2 cups flour
1-1/2 tsp baking
soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp. sugar
2 eggs
*2 cups buttermilk
or sour milk (I just add2 tbsps. Lemon juice or vinegar to the milk)
1/4 cups oil
chocolate chips
(optional)
Mix dry ingredients
well. Combine with buttermilk, eggs, and oil. Let stand for 5 minutes. If you
would like, add chocolate chips (I just sprinkle them on top when cooking, but
you can also stir them in.)
*You can make sour
milk by addin1 tbsps. of white vinegar or lemon juice to each cup of milk Let the mixture stand at room temperature for
5-10 minutes. It is ready when the milk
is mixture is slightly thickened and a little bit curdled.
You can also
substitute buttermilk with
Yogurt: 3/4 cup plain yogurt with 1/4 cup water.
Sour Cream: 2/4 cup sour cream with 1/4 cup water.
Yogurt: 3/4 cup plain yogurt with 1/4 cup water.
Sour Cream: 2/4 cup sour cream with 1/4 cup water.
